While
most karaoke venues are not acceptable for children, there are private
parties and venues especially set up for children to sing karaoke. I have
hosted private karaoke parties and the little ones quickly catch on to how
it works and can barely contain themselves long enough for their turn in the
singing rotation. Kids who have not yet started junior-high generally have
none of the inhibitions that keep most adults away from the microphone. And
forget needing to be able to read the lyrics. These little sponges know
hundreds of songs by heart.
The only little problem with this wonderful scenario is that, like adults,
not all children sing like angels. This does not, however, stop them from
belting out the tunes that they love. So, if you go to one of these parties,
be sure to bring your video camera (to tease them with when they are grown),
your sense of humor and some earplugs.
There are great, inexpensive little karaoke machines available for sale
online, such as
Singing Machine that are great for kids.
They may come with a viewer, but all can be connected to your TV and
they often come with a selection of music. You can
purchase children's karaoke discs online at Ace Karaoke. They have a
large variety of
children's karaoke, including the Disney series. In the meanwhile, you can find some very cute online
sites that cater to children's karaoke.
Karaoke is also a great and easy way to learn English!
